LIFE MareNatura was proudly represented at OCEANOISE2026, the leading international conference on ocean noise, held in Vilanova i la Geltr\u00fa, Barcelona, Spain. The conference brought together world-leading experts in underwater acoustics, marine ecology, conservation and policy to discuss the latest scientific and regulatory developments in ocean noise management.<\/p>\n
Representing the project and the Marine Bioacoustics Team, Dr. Aristides Prospathopoulos<\/strong> (Hellenic Centre of Marine Research-HCMR) \u00a0and Dr. Vasilis Trygonis<\/strong> (University of Aegean) delivered two complementary presentations showcasing the Greek case and the Eastern Mediterranean perspective on underwater noise.<\/p>\n Dr. Prospathopoulos presented \u201cLeveraging complementarity of large-scale projects for effective management of underwater noise in the Eastern Mediterranean: The Greek case\u201d during the Management & Policy session, while Dr. Trygonis presented \u201cSoundscape analysis of the multi-diverse marine environment of the Eastern Mediterranean: The Greek case\u201d during the Soundscapes session.<\/p>\n The strong interest generated by both presentations highlighted the importance of connecting science, monitoring and policy to support effective conservation action.
