In order to monitor the breeding of the Audouin’s Gull, the NCC team installed two cameras in colonies of the species within the National Park of Northern Sporades. The cameras were strategically placed to “observe” certain nests of the Audouin’s Gull, allowing for the remote and free from disturbance monitoring of egg-hatching times, chick-rearing periods, and any factors that might affect the species’ reproduction, such as predation, disturbance, etc. The cameras transmit the material (photos and videos) via the mobile network, enabling real-time monitoring.<\/p>\n

This action was carried out in collaboration with the crew of “Nereis,” the MOm vessel, which is permanently stationed in the area to protect the National Park.<\/p>\n
